Busy, Busy, Busy!
Maumee Valley Save-A-Pet volunteers are going into overdrive this month!
Saturday, June 14th - Join us and a select group of furry friends at the annual Art in the Garden held at Garden Delights, 5723 N. Main St., Sylvania, across from Reeb Funeral Home. The hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Every Saturday - Our weekly adoption showings are held at our new activities and adoption center, 833 Illinois Ave., Maumee, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We are also happy to announce that we have been invited to show at Pet Supplies Plus, 5315 Airport Hwy. (corner of Airport and Reynolds) every Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Please join us for one or all of these fun events!
The Mower the Merrier
Maumee Valley Save-A-Pet is looking for volunteers to mow the yard at our activities and adoption center at 833 Illinois Avenue in Maumee. We have a riding mower with hydrostatic drive (no shifting), and gasoline will be provided. We would like to get enough volunteers so that each person only has to mow one Saturday a month.
If you are interested in helping, please call our hotline (419-470-2988) and leave your name and phone number. Thanks!
Play Ball and Help MVSAP!
Join the fun on Wednesday, August 27th at The Roost at Fifth Third Field!
Hot August Night, Northwest Ohio Community Shares’ annual fundraiser and silent auction, starts at 6:00 p.m. The buffet is open from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and the game (Mud Hens vs. Columbus Clippers) starts at 7:00 p.m.
Tickets are $35 each. Please support one of Maumee Valley Save-A-Pet’s biggest sources of contributions - Northwest Ohio Community Shares. To purchase a ticket, please call our hotline (419-470-2988) and leave a message for Janet K.
We Need You!
Maumee Valley Save-A-Pet still needs volunteers to stop at our activities and adoption center once (or twice) a day to check for “drop-offs” (cats and dogs who have been dropped off by irresponsible humans). Since we are open on Saturday afternoons only, we can’t take the chance of an abandoned animal not being discovered for days.
If you can take the time to stop at our building and check out the grounds (especially if you live and/or work in the Maumee area), please call our hotline (419-470-2988) and leave your name and number. Thanks.
The Perfect Gift (Card)
Looking for the perfect graduation or wedding present? Maumee Valley Save-A-Pet’s prepaid card fundraising program has just what you’re looking for!
The Northwest Ohio Scrip Association (NOSA®) acts on behalf of non-profit organizations to purchase large amounts of gift cards and certificates (or scrip) from hundreds of local and national merchants. By purchasing a gift card/certificate, you receive the full face value, and a percentage of each card sold to our members is donated to Maumee Valley Save-A-Pet. (The percentage varies from 2 to 22%, depending on the merchant.) You’ll receive your prepaid cards a few days after you place your order.
They are perfect for everyday use at your favorite grocery store, restaurant or gas station … no need for cash or a credit card! They also make great gifts for birthdays, graduations, wedding presents and anniversaries. You can also use prepaid cards to pay your monthly charge account bill at The Andersons, Dillard’s, Kohl’s and J.C. Penney!
The newest participating merchant is Dinners by Design (Holland store only) ($40 denomination, 8% returned to MVSAP). Lowe’s and Walgreen’s have increased their percentage to 4%.
For a list of merchants (including denominations, percentages and restrictions, if any), go to www.nosa.us and click on “merchant info”. If you do not have Internet access, if you have any questions about the program, or to order gift cards/certificates, call Cindy at 419-340-6998. (Note: we have discontinued accepting Mastercard or Visa to buy prepaid cards.)
